Chinedu is a coMEdian, actor and a writer. Currently Chinedu stars in Island Hoppers, Facebook Watch, on an HBO short film, The Big Chop alongside Simone Missick (Misty Knight, Luke Cage) that can be found on Issa Rae’s Youtube channel as the most watched short film with millions of views and on the fifth season of Coming to the Stage (HULU). He was last seen on the TV comedy series The Mindy Project (FOX/HULU) and in the feature films, “It’s A Party” (SHOWTIME – Ego Nwodim) and “#Twominutesoffame” (LOL Network – Jay Pharaoh/Katt Williams). Chinedu also recently returned from a tour overseas performing for the US Troops stationed across the Middle East and a comedy tour of India and Lebanon. In addition, stars in the Web Series Platonic (ABFF Film Festival Selection).
Born and raised in south Los Angeles by his parents who emigrated from Nigeria, Chinedu got his start in entertainment through stand up while attending college at University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduating, Chinedu moved back to LA to pursue his entertainment dreams at night, as he worked as a Special Education Teacher by day, before taking a leap of faith and leaving teaching after serving the inner city youth of Los Angeles.
Chinedu has established himself as a smooth, funny comedic presence performing as a paid regular at some of the country’s most renowned comedy clubs. Including his local favorites: The Laugh Factory, The Hollywood Improv, The Comedy Union, The Comedy and Magic Club, The Westside Comedy Theatre, The Icehouse, Flappers Comedy Club, etc.. Additionally, he independently tours universities nationwide annually through his “Study Break” College Comedy Tour and touring with Damon Wayans Jr. (Let’s Be Cops) and Yvonne Orji (Insecure) on the road.
Chinedu was a top ten finalist in NBC’s Stand Up for Diversity competition and had his stand up featured on Kevin Hart’s LOL Network, Amazon Prime’s Inside Jokes, on FUSE’s TV Stand Up and Deliver, Fox’s Laughs and All Def Digital. He’s regularly featured on All Def Digital as a part of their comedy segments and occasionally tours with them across the United States.
Furthermore, his name can be seen under the credits as a writer for Caught Red Handed for Showtime and he has performed in multiple comedy festivals including Just For Laughs, New York Comedy Festival, Laughing Skull, Bridgetown, The Hell Yes Fest, San Louis Obispo, Brokechella, Weird Ass Comedy Festival, etc.
Chinedu’s overall goal is to inspire others to chase their dreams and to make it big so hopefully spellcheck can start accepting the spelling of his name as is.
